GRAND AGRO-BUSINESS AND DIGITAL SHOW (GSAD2026)

 

IITA participated in the Grand Agribusiness and Digital Fair (GSAD 2026), held in Kolwezi, Lualaba Province, from July 16 to 19, 2026, at the Provincial Assembly building, to promote its various technologies and products. These included Black Soldier Fly technology, bread flour production technology, and the TAAT project, whose various technological products were made available to the public. During this period, the IITA booth was visited by a diverse range of people, including political figures, investors, farmers, livestock breeders, and students. Among the political figures present was the Provincial Minister of Agriculture, His Excellency Jean-Pierre Kalenga Mupatayi, accompanied by a large delegation, including his agricultural advisor, who expressed his strong desire to begin raising Black Soldier Fly to produce feed for his fish and chickens. We should also mention the visit of Ms. Nadege Furaha, an entrepreneur involved in collecting plastic waste for charcoal production, who expressed her desire to start raising Black Soldier Flies as a business. The local population showed particular interest by requesting a few days of training to help them master this technology and put it into practice.
